Winchester's new model for 2023, the Big Daddy Gun Safe BD-5942-36-7E, is designed with 90 minutes of fire protection, a UL RSC Burglar label, and a 65-long gun capacity. This gun safe hits the sweet spot for most gun owners with quite a few long guns. It has outside dimensions of 59.00" high by 42.00" wide by 25.00" deep. Make sure to add 1.5" for the lock, handle, and hinges.
Winchester tested the Big Daddy Gun Safe BD-5942A-36-7E for a proven 90-minute fire rating with an outside temperature of up to 1400 degrees F. They also included the Palusol Heat expanding door seal as a standard feature, which expands to over six times its size when subjected to heat, creating a barrier against heat and smoke.
